Since establishing the KERIS on April 22^nd, 1999, KERIS has been responsible for Korea’s educational Information & Communication Technology (ICT) development. Over the past 10 years, KERIS has strived to improve public education, raise national competitive power through ICT in higher education and learning, realize a national education information system, and joined the global efforts to establish e-learning.

Thanks to our great efforts, we have made significant progress in the responsibilities of ICT in education regarding the restraint of private education demands, diversity of schools, and the improvement of initiative and humanity education.

KERIS has strengthened efforts not only to advance the educational information system which leads the public educational reform such as edunet, RISS, NEIS but has also taken responsibility of ICT in education connected to national policy. At the same time, in order to build a statistics and research oriented approach, KERIS will focus more on the establishment of an aid provision system and unification of scattered information. KERIS will continue to endeavor to confirm the global leadership of ICT in education through e-learning consulting and international cooperation.
