The various media have been used for teaching and learning in the world. Especially in Korea, we are able to have the opportunity to use the latest media because of the significant development of IT. Among these media, the web is very essential to make and operate e-Learning. E-Learning have been followed by a development of many kinds of e-Learning solutions and contents.
Although technology and multimedia have been grown spectacularly, the level of development and usage of e-Learning contents has not been so effective and efficient. The e-Learning contents are developed and used within organization, school, university and so on. Besides, too much money has been invested the contents development, but we cannot share the qualitative e-Learning contents widely beyond the border of organization. It is quite ineffective and inefficient.
In this reason, the purpose of this study is to identify a successful and sustainable e-Learning contents distribution model and strategy considering our current e-Learning condition and environment.
For these purposes we reviewed the literatures of e-Learning platform, sustainablity, open course ware, knowledge management system and so on. We also investigated the case of advanced e-Learning sharing model including MIT OCW and domestic cases.
Through all these research, we presented the core elements of sustainable e-Learning distribution model and proposed the ideal model for the Korean e-Learning open course ware(tentatively named "KOCW"). The future ideal e-Learning open course ware model of Korea was presented in two types. The possession of LMS(Learning Management System) is the significant difference of two types; KERIS(Korea Education & Research Information Service) could possess the LMS or provide the possession to the other company. The final decision might be executed by KERIS considering the internal or external conditions.
The strategies are also proposed to be prepared the core condition in the 4 parts-fund, technology, contents, human resources and organization and to have the elements in accordance with the time schedule, 3-part road map for a next decade.
