This research has been performed for the necessity of both heightening needs of improvement of service quality and systematic evaluation of web services based on quantity expansion of RISS, and transition to user-oriented service improvement of RISS.
Therefore, the study aims to suggest guidelines and detailed execution strategies for improvement of service by systematic evaluation and analysis on behavioral aspects of using RISS services, and to present optimized interface evaluation model which is to offer concrete and applicable methodology for user centered web-information service improvement.
The purpose leads the study to include analysis of usability testing situation through literature reviews and case studies, to understand characteristics of RISS users and usability issues through primary data survey and benchmarking, to carry out systematic evaluation and analysis on RISS usage types through 3 types of usability testing techniques such as expert evaluation, card sorting and lab-usability testing, then propose problems of current RISS service. Finally, this study suggests the plan of improvement of user satisfaction through UI guidelines and the interface evaluation model for user friendly service of RISS.
Appropriate application of the study results make it possible to manage usability effectively by usability testing on a regular basis. In addition, the study results will play a role as fundamental guideline for future development and design of RISS service and help service management through development of interface evaluation model.
